What is neuromodulator treatment?
Neuromodulator injections are one of the most common non-surgical procedures used to reduce dynamic lines caused by facial expressions. They help smooth:
Forehead lines
Frown lines between the eyebrows
Crow’s feet at the corners of the eyes
Vertical lines above the upper lip
The procedure is also used for:
lifting the corners of the mouth and cheeks
Slimming the lower face
Reducing tension in the masseter muscles and neck
eliminating neck muscle bands
How does the treatment work?
The mechanism of action is based on the temporary modulation of the nerve-muscle connection. The substance binds to nerve endings and inhibits the release of neurotransmitters between the nerve and muscle, blocking muscle contraction. As a result, the muscles responsible for dynamic lines relax, the skin becomes smoother and the facial appearance more refreshed.
Procedure
The injection process typically takes about 15 minutes, depending on the treatment area.
The maximum effect is visible after about 2 weeks.
Results usually last 4–6 months.
Aftercare and results
Mild bruising or tenderness may occur after the injections but usually disappears within a few days.
Makeup can be applied the same day, and normal daily activities can be resumed immediately.
Avoid massaging or putting pressure on the treated area for at least 24 hours to prevent the toxin from spreading to unintended muscles.
Keep your head elevated on the first night after the procedure.
Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, or hot baths for 24–48 hours.
Do not take aspirin or other blood-thinning medications before the procedure without consulting your doctor to reduce the risk of bruising.
Avoid excessive facial expressions immediately after treatment.
Results usually begin to appear within 3–7 days, with the full effect visible in about 2 weeks.
The outcome is a fresher, smoother facial appearance while maintaining natural expression.
